BIOGRAPHY

Barrie Dams is an English songwriter, musician and producer. Born in 1971, Barrie has been privately recording music for over two decades.
Barrie worked in Banking for twenty years before returning to full time education and completing MEng and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering. Barrie is currently working as a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Bath on the Circular bio-based construction industry project https://www.interreg2seas.eu/en/CBCI. Alongside these vocations, musical interests have resulted in one group album, eighteen solo albums and three ep's having been recorded over the years.

Barrie thoroughly enjoys writing and creating music but is not inclined towards live performance. Starting as a guitarist and bassist in Weston-Super-Mare based band 'Sane' (1991-1992), Barrie commenced recording to a professional standard as a solo artist in 1995. For a decade, Barrie recorded at Mex One Studios, Brighton, England and has subsequently recorded at home since 2006.
Barrie enjoys a huge variety of music from all eras, but has a particular fondness for the psychedelic / sunshine pop music of the mid-late 1960s and album-orientated rock/prog of the 1970s. Vocal harmonies form an integral part of Barrie's music and Barrie will attempt any instrument required during the recording process.
Barrie is married with three children and continues to balance family life, music and post-doctoral research work.
